I Fucking got in!!1!!one!!

Well..
Look out QUT, glens there for another 3 years....
Well i was lucky to get into a new course, which im super hyper mega excited about.
Essentially its a animation degree, some of you might say, but glen, weren't u already doing one of those?
Well no i wasn't, i was doing a double degree in IT and Comm design, now at the 2nd year part, they changed the course structure and removed all the animation components from that course, cause it was (unofficially) costing them to much money in licenses, so now its a 30 person animation course, is the only ones who have access to the animation subjects, so they only need 30 licenses, instead of 300....
Anyway
I had to submit a folio of work, and construct a series of images to respond to a sentence, eg opening Pandora's box, and also respond to a excerpt of text from some old ass book.
Anyway i made a drug lab, took photos, and now i got in..
WOOT.

Well was I was trying to work out how to throw a mellee weapon and scouring the Interlopers forum, i came across a trigger known as "push_trigger"..
Whats this u might say, or might not, i don't mind, Anyway essentially what it does is propels the player in a certain direction at a certain speed.
Now this got me thinking, and essentially side tracked.
Results are below.





What you can see is a badly textured level of DM17 "The longest Yard"
This needs to be hl2dm level.
It has been decided.

Revisions for cluedo.

A while ago i made a blog post regarding a cluedo map for hl2.
Now that uni is finished, i plan to make it (steam permitting)..

I have come up with a few additions on how to make it work.
Firstly i originally planned to simply use the gravity gun and have user pick up the various weapons, and throw them at each other.
Now thats all well and good, cept it wont look very cluedo ish... (i cant remember the grav gun in cluedo as one of the weapons...)
So.
It shouldn't be to hard to edit the mellee weapon code to allow right click = throw.
Example.
Prof Plum is running along, and acquires a lead pipe, he then spots miss scarlet, and proceeds to wail on her head with said pipe, some how miss scarlet manages to start running away from the good professor...
Who proceeds to throw his lead pipe, catch her in the head, and takes her down.

And there we go.

Also i figured out a use of the rope.
now the rope has always been a issue for me...
How to use it?
A whip? a garrote? thats all well and good, but how to use that in hl2..
BUT THEN, it came to me in a dream (well actually while i was driving home), what if a modified version of the pods that are on the roof, that grab u with their dong, and proceed to kill you, we to be introduced, as a trap.
So u pick up the rope.. u seem to have a few spare moments before that dam professor finds another pipe, u saw him go into the billiard room, so u attach the noose just in front of the door, as the good professor burst thru the door shouting "HEEEEEERRRRSSSSS PLUMMMY!!!!!!" he walks right into a noose. WHICH PROCEEDS TO HANG HIM..
Now in my semester of uni i worked out how to change camera views in hl2, so as u manage to get yourself hung, the camera would go on the floor looking back at you as u scrambled with the robe, and then eventually went limp.

I just remember how much fun it was in hl1 dm to set those laser mine traps along doorways and the likes.. so i thought something like that needed to be in the game.
